Instructions on Cistern Installation
All our Cisterns are poured with 4000#PSI concrete.  Reinforcement wire throughout.  Along with rebar in the corners and the lid.

Our cisterns are waterproofed with a white portland cement mixture.  We ask that the inside of the cistern be washed down with a vinegar and water solution 1 gallon vinegar to 5 Gal. water, before filling.

Cisterns should be installed on a 4" layer of sand or other fine material for some cushion.  Backfill the cistern carefully and evenly.

Our two piece 2800 Gallon cistern requires 24 hrs, set time before backfilling.  If possibility of rain, to avoid the chance of the cistern floating 400 gallons of water should be put in the cistern.

When hooking up the cistern please allow 4" of water to remain below the check valve.  This will keep sediment out of your pump.  All Pre-Cast Cisterns must have some type of vent to assure the system does not create a vacuum inside cistern.
